Abstract

This document presents the consensus of the Argentine Federation of Endocrinology Societies (FASEN) on the endocrinological care of adults with gender incongruence in Argentina. It was developed through a modified Delphi methodology that combined a critical review of international evidence with the clinical experience of specialists from different FASEN branches. Special emphasis is placed on the legal framework established by National Law 26,743 on Gender Identity, which guarantees the right to health and bodily modification based solely on informed consent, thereby depathologizing trans identities. Gender-affirming hormone therapies (GAHT) for trans men/non-binary individuals (TM/NBI) and trans women/non-binary individuals (TW/ NBI) are detailed, including the use of testosterone or estrogens/ antiandrogens in adults. Continuous follow-up is essential to manage expected effects and prevent long-term risks, such as erythrocytosis in TM/NBI and thromboembolic risk in TW/NBI. Medical and ethical management should be individualized, ensuring high-quality care focused on patient autonomy.
